High School Integrated Science Instructor

Second Grade Teaching Position

Delphos St. John’s Elementary School is anticipating an opening for a passionate/qualified Second Grade Teacher-Minister for the 2024-25 school year. Interested candidates must be proficient in all curriculum demands of teaching Second Grade according to the Diocese of Toledo Standards and Curriculum. 

Applicants should be willing to play an active role in the education of our youth as well as create a classroom environment that is supportive and structured. Summary of Responsibilities: 
Instruct Second Grade as scheduled 
• Be Flexible to Schedule Adjustments 
• Be Willing to Coach/Advise Students Athletics or Organizations if Interested 
• Participate in Outside School Activities and Events as Necessary (First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion are made during Second Grade) 
• Able to Relate and Develop Rapport with Students 
• Work Closely and Collaborate with the Delphos St. John’s Staff 
• Maintain High Quality Academics and Expectations

Qualifications/Requirements: 
• Bachelor’s Degree, majoring in Elementary Education preferred 
• Ohio Teaching License (P-5) or Non-Tax License Required 
• FBI/BCI Background Check 
• Complete Ohio Department of Education and Diocese of Toledo Requirements 
• Must model the behaviors and precepts of the Catholic Church 
• Practicing Catholic in good standing in the Church in order to prepare students for the Sacraments of Holy Communion and Reconciliation.

Youth Minister

St. John the Evangelist (Delphos), St. John the Baptist (Landeck) and St. Patrick (Spencerville) Parishes are now accepting applications for a full time dynamic and passionate Catholic Youth Minister.
The youth minister provides enthusiastic, efficient and professional leadership and day-to-day supervision of the youth ministry efforts (primarily 8th-12th grades) of the parishes.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Administrative
  • Schedule a weekly meeting with the pastor to update him on youth ministry progress and seek counsel about direction and goals.
  • Complete a yearly youth ministry budget and stay within approved expenditures.
  • Effectively and consistently communicate youth ministry programs and events.
  • Work as a team player with the Director of Religious Education and other staff members at the parishes and the school.

Recruitment and Training of Core Team
  • Develop a core team of adults that focus on leading small groups and mentoring the teens.
  • Develop a group of teen leaders to help run retreats, give testimonies, and be an overall example to the other teens.

Program Development
  • Coordinate a retreat for each grade level of the high school.
  • Plan and execute a summer trip that is open to all students of the parishes.
  • Schedule follow up gatherings after the summer trip has ended.
  • Schedule weekly small group nights throughout the school year.
  • Prioritize building relationships with teenagers in a variety of settings. Spend time in the high schools when in session.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the Pastor.

Professional Qualifications
Must be an active Catholic with either a bachelor's degree in a related field and/or extensive youth ministry experience.

Substitute Teaching Positions

The Ohio Department of Education has released an update to the requirements for a substitute teaching license.  ODE has issued a one-time non-renewable one-year temporary non-bachelor's substitute teaching license for the 2022-2023 school year.
