Delphos St. Johns Lego Robotics Program

Our Delphos St. John's Junior High Robotics group, Robo Plumbers, competed at the Sylvania Stem Regional Qualifier Saturday Dec. 9, 2017.  There were 24 teams competing for many different awards throughout the day.  The St. John’s team received the Robot Performance Award for scoring the most points during the Robot Games out of  the 24 teams.  The teams competed in two and a half minute matches where they earned points for each match.  The team also received a 2nd place Project Award for their "No Wipes Down Our City's Pipes" project, where they raised money to design and put up a billboard informing our city of the dangers of flushing wet wipes down toilets.  Additionally, the group recorded a radio commercial which aired on Fun 107.1 to promote their service project.   Their coach, Lois MacLennan, received the Coach/Mentor Award for inspiring her team to do their best, both as individuals and as a team.  She dedicated the award to their late Robotics Coach, Mr. Melvin Rode, who passed away this past November.  The Junior High Robotics group now moves on to compete at the Bowling Green Districts in January.  Congratulations and good luck to all students involved.
